Return and refund policy

At Bloomhaven Nursery, we specialize in seeds, live plants, rooted plants, cuttings, bulbs, tubers, roots, scionwood, and other perishable gardening products.

Because these products are living or natural materials that are affected by environmental conditions beyond our control, please review this policy carefully before placing an order.

1. Claim Reporting Window

All claims must be reported within 48 hours (2 days) of the carrier's recorded delivery date.

To qualify for review:

  • The package must be accepted by the customer.
  • Clear photographs must be provided.
  • Claims submitted after 48 hours will not be eligible for review.

No exceptions will be made for delayed reporting.


2. Nature of Living and Natural Products

Seeds, plants, cuttings, bulbs, tubers, roots, and scionwood are natural products and may vary in:

  • Size
  • Shape
  • Color
  • Growth rate
  • Dormancy stage
  • Leaf count
  • Root development

Photos shown on our website are representative examples and not exact replicas of the item received.

Natural variation is normal and does not qualify for a refund, replacement, or return.


3. No Germination, Growth, or Survival Guarantee

We do not guarantee:

  • Germination rates
  • Rooting success
  • Plant survival
  • Future flowering
  • Future fruit production
  • Growth rate
  • Mature size
  • Color intensity
  • Yield

Plant performance depends on factors outside our control, including:

  • Climate
  • Weather conditions
  • Soil quality
  • Watering practices
  • Fertilization
  • Sunlight exposure
  • Pest pressure
  • Planting techniques
  • Customer care

By purchasing from Bloomhaven Nursery, you acknowledge and accept these risks.


4. All Sales Are Final

Due to the perishable nature of our products, all sales are final.

We do not accept returns, refunds, exchanges, or replacements for:

  • Failure to germinate
  • Failure to root
  • Failure to grow
  • Plant death after delivery
  • Buyer dissatisfaction
  • Change of mind
  • Incorrect planting methods
  • Improper care
  • Opened seed packets
  • Seasonal dormancy
  • Cosmetic imperfections
  • Minor shipping stress
  • Leaf drop
  • Temporary wilting
  • Delayed growth
  • Carrier shipping delays

5. Live Plant Shipping Stress

Live plants may experience temporary stress during shipping.

This may include:

  • Yellow leaves
  • Leaf drop
  • Wilting
  • Dormant appearance
  • Minor branch breakage

These conditions are considered normal shipping stress and generally recover with proper care.

Shipping stress alone does not qualify for a refund or replacement.


6. Delivered Packages

Orders marked as "Delivered" by the shipping carrier are considered successfully delivered.

Bloomhaven Nursery is not responsible for:

  • Stolen packages
  • Missing packages after delivery
  • Mail theft
  • Delivery to unsecured locations

Customers should contact the carrier directly regarding delivered-package disputes.


7. Shipping Delays

Transit times are estimates only.

We are not responsible for delays caused by:

  • USPS
  • UPS
  • FedEx
  • Weather conditions
  • Natural disasters
  • Mechanical failures
  • Peak holiday seasons
  • Carrier operational issues

Shipping delays do not qualify for refunds or chargebacks.


8. Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you believe you received a damaged or incorrect item, you must contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Claims must include:

  • Order number
  • Photos of the shipping box or envelope
  • Photos of the shipping label
  • Photos of all contents received
  • Multiple close-up photos of the issue

Failure to provide complete documentation may result in claim denial.

If a claim is approved, Bloomhaven Nursery may, at its sole discretion:

  • Send a replacement
  • Issue store credit
  • Issue a partial refund
  • Issue a full refund

The chosen remedy will be determined on a case-by-case basis.


9. Product Identification

Many plant varieties require months or years to reach maturity.

Because environmental conditions affect plant appearance, we cannot accept claims regarding variety identification after planting, flowering, fruiting, or extended growing periods.

Customers must inspect products immediately upon arrival.

Claims regarding plant identity submitted after the 48-hour reporting period will not be accepted.


10. Incorrect Addresses and Refused Deliveries

Customers are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address.

We are not responsible for losses resulting from:

  • Incorrect addresses
  • Incomplete addresses
  • Undeliverable addresses
  • Refused packages
  • Failure to retrieve held packages

Any replacement or reshipment is solely at our discretion.


11. Returns

Due to agricultural and biosecurity concerns, returns are generally not accepted.

If a return is exceptionally approved:

  • Written authorization must be obtained first.
  • The item must be returned exactly as instructed.

Unauthorized returns may be refused and no refund will be issued.


12. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Customers agree to contact Bloomhaven Nursery before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute.

Submitting a chargeback for issues already addressed by this policy may result in the customer becoming ineligible for future purchases.

We reserve the right to provide order records, delivery confirmation, photographs, customer communications, and carrier documentation when responding to payment disputes.
